Geneva according to… Mathieu Jacquesson
This week Dear Geneva were lucky to have an interview with Mathieu Jacquesson, the founder of The Square, a pop-up store in Geneva. What better way to find out some of Geneva’s hot spots then from someone who was born and raised in Geneva.
How long have you been in Geneva?
My whole life, I grew up in Geneva.
What do you like best about living in Geneva?
The fact that everything is so close, in less then 20 minutes you can go from the centre of town to the country side and the fact there is so much happening in the summer, it is very social, lots of events and parties.
Where do you like to….
Shop – 242, The Square, Vilebrequin, Marché aux Puces, Tranzport
Eat – Pasta d’Oro (it has the biggest pizza in Geneva), Café de la Paix, Le Mékong (if you order the “crèpe vietnamienne”, don’t ask for a salad dressing) and I like to go to the Sunday markets in Plainpalais and make my own brunch.
Drink – Tropical Corner, Café de la Pointe, La Petite Reine and I like to sit around the River Rhone and drink a nice apero (beer, wine and cheese) and try the next Martini pop up bar at The Square the 15th September.
Rest and Relax – In the country, on my balcony at home with my girlfriend or just chill at the skate park.
What is on thing only a local would know?
Parties on the roof top!
